Founder/Director
Natasha E. Bowden started dancing at the age of 7 in Brooklyn, New York. In 2002 she graduated from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Certificate Program. After completing the program at Alvin Ailey, she danced with Dallas Black Dance Theater II in Texas, and was also a Teaching Artist for Dallas Black Dance Academy.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Dance with a minor in Education from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. Shortly after achieving this goal, she started her career as a certified Dance Teacher with the New York City Department of Education.
Natasha has worked extensively with children at the elementary, middle and high school levels as a dance teacher for the past 7 years within the country. Throughout that time she developed the dance program for various public schools in Brooklyn, New York.
Urban Plie, Inc is a dance program for children between the ages of 3-18. The mission of the company is to inspire kids through dance. Urban Plie offers exciting and challenging classes in: creative movement, ballet, modern dance, West African, jazz, yoga, and arts in education. Natasha is currently working on a Masters in Early Childhood Special Education in order to better assist children with various disabilities through movement.
